  • Mona, dear - I can read your utter despair and pain from this post and it does hurt me tremendously! I feel so awfully helpless and yet, I would so much like to help you in any way possible!
That Israel disregards lives is nothing new, sadly enough but that the so-called "superpower" USA does support EACH and EVERY move and word they say, is despicable and tragic! And everything is underthe cover of "security" ... it is so pathetic!
Did you read the responses to your last post? There are a WHOLE number of them ... Mona, we're ALL with you and supporting you! Just disregard this last one (before my vicious response!)... there are weirdoes everywhere and always! Just ignore them ..
I am sending you and your daughter (how old is she?) a BIG HUG for comfort and a TON of strength! REST assured we are ALL standing by your side in solidarity!
WATCH YOURSELF .. and STAY STRONG!!

  • Mona, What I said before goes for now and until this ordeal will come to an end, I am with you and my heart goes out to you and your family. Do not despair, You have God on your side.

  • Dear Mona, my great daughter, please keep fighting as bravely. You and your people will be ultimately the winners - it is the law of nature and the promise of Almighty God. Whatever atrocities the U.S. and the Jewish state commit, you will be the winners and merge victorious. Please address the factions and tell them it's no time for interclashes - your people have one enemy to fight, and this enemy won't make a distinction between one faction and another when it cannonades your people. Rest assured God is justice, and He cannot let you down

Mona, your courage and selflessness.. your daily struggle with death, pain, and suffering.. your ability to continue to care for those around you despite the impossible circumstances.. everything you do.. make me feel ashamed of my ineptness... I did work in Lebanon in the early 80s, and I do know a thing ortwo about pain and suffering.. but nothing compares to what you are going through.. God bless you. God keep you and your family safe and protected.. One day, you will prevail.. and you will see a just peaceful world, free from the tyrany of Israel and the USA...

  • I can't blame you or any of the Palestinians for looking toward the U.S. for blame, given our government's overwhelming support for Israel. And the current band of neo-conservatives who are so tied into Israel only exacerbates the problem.

Israel has been known to do whatever it takes to get its way, including numerous false flag operations designed to goad public opinion in its favor. They're a treacherous bunch. They do a brilliant job of playing the "poor, poor pitiful me" game when they have one of the most powerful military machines on the face of the planet. The Palestinians are painted as terrorists if one listens to the Israelis. They are, in fact, fighting for their freedom and the land that was stolen from them by the Israelis and others in the 1940s. We, as Americans, should understand the plight of a true freedom fighter, akin to what our forefathers fought and died for over 200 years ago. But the Israelis have us hoodwinked into believing otherwise. How tragic.

Most Americans, sadly, don't understand or pay attention to what is going on in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. If they were to pay attention to the history of the conflict rather than the propaganda of the U.S. government and the media, support for Israel would dry up in an instant. Until I took the time to do research on it a few years ago, I was just as guilty of not understanding what was going on. I hope that more Americans will do the same. What Israel has forced upon the Palestinian people is unconscionable. And for America to support that is disgusting.

I wish you peace and the hope for a better tomorrow. Your/our children deserve that!

  • I hate to pont it out, but are you familiar with the chicken or the egg theory? Who came first, the chicken or the egg? I do believe it was Israel who occupied Palestine first and then the qassam came as a response.

  • except for mhoward, Everyone has expressed my thoughts!

Stay strong! Another blogger http://inpalestine.blogspot.com/ quoted Sami Awad in an article asking if this is the "worst of time" and I hope this is it and you do not keep asking it everyday! Allah Ma3ek, the Palestinians have endured way too much!

By Blogger Halla, at 6/17/2006 2:58 AM

  • What I found so interesting regarding the history of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is this: At about the same time as millions of Jews were being wiped out by the Nazis in Europe, David Ben-Gurion and others already were planning the forced/coerced movement of the Palestinian people out of their homeland. And they were prepared to undertake any measure to make sure the Palestinians didn't resist, including murder.

The irony, not to mention the sheer hypocrisy, is stunning.

I start to be a bit worried about you ... are you Ok? Whenever you read that - could you just please drop a few words as life sign, telling us you're alright? • Mona
I was in Gaza some three years ago doing photography around childrens mental health issues... i was assisted by GCMHP. I met many children who had been traumatised by the occupation. Lost childhoods. There were military actions whilst i was there. Akram took me to Khan Younis, i met his wif who was about to give birth. Outside the sound of shells, inside th warmth of motherhood. I have done small things to bring attention to the situation but still i have a lot more to do. All small steps will lead to peace for good people. We must all do something. www.bipinchandra.co.uk/gaza/gaza1.html
We have no other choice but to contribute something to making the lives of innocents better.
    Take care, Bip.
