COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT AND STATE TERRORISM

Dear all
my freind hoda , lives next to the ministry of interior building , in Gaza, that was hit last night with 2 rockets ,the attack occured 2am yesterday, please forgive me about the accuracy , l am starting to lose track of days and nights , and how many times we were attacked , hoda told me that the whole building was shaking ,she went out ,with her pyjamas , all the residents were out in their night wear ,children faces were too pale ,some of them were crying hystiricaly, the fume filled the place , the flat next door were largely damaged(it is the next to the building that was targeted),where a fmily with 6 children live ,there was large fire, the firee brigades used her flat , to put off the fire, the Ministry of interior building was empty during the attack !!!!,the aim was revenge and destroyingof the building ,i live 150 meters from Hoda place , no body is safe no one is immune .what happened with Hoda reminded me with the night when Late president ARafat headquarters in Gaza were attacked , 2 years ago, i live nearby , and too close , that night 37 shelling hit that building,

the power is still of ....we had it for 3 hours yesterday, enough to recharge my labtop, and mobile phone andto do some cooking
,i am highly concerened about the hospitals, the fuel supply to run the local generators is running down ,the borders are copletely sealed since the attack , no fuel was allowed inside gaza since that date, the medication and medical supplies are running down too,we donot have enough strategic storage , because of the previous ongoing sanctions , our drug stores are exhausted , the water supply is scarce too , we need to rationalise our wter use ,we are going through big humanitrian disaster ,

Sonic booming
when the get fighters ,go fastly through the sound barrier, we expereince this sort of terrifying raids at least 7 times ,in different times of the day and night, many international human rights orgs. appealed to Israel to stop this raids.knowing its harmful effect on people , they never used it before withdrawal from gaza

how can i let you know what is my personal feelings , during this raids,if iam sleeping my bed shakes tremendously,my dauhgter jumps to my bed, shivering with fear then both of us end up on the floor ,my heart beats go very fast , and i had to pacify my daughter , now she knows we need to pacify eachother , she feels my fear, if iam awake i flinch up and scream loudly , i cannot helpmyself , ok iam a doctor and mature middleaged woman with large experience and an activist too,but with this booming i go hystirical ,after all we are all humans and each have its own threshold ,hearing the sound of breaking windows is frightening too , many tin roofs in the refujee camps colapsed on the heads of families , as a result of this booming ,hospitals received large number of phsychologicaly traumatised children.

1.5 million residents in Gaza face COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT, feelings of hate will grow larger, and all these assaults and savage agressions against population , will not bring peace or security to Israel , only justice peace wil.

Israel is talking about security of its citizens ,against militiamen, who are armed with some home made fire sticks rockets,
Israel is talking about terrorism , what can i call this soonic booming and power plant attack , but STATE TERRORISM

yours in love and solidarity
Mona ElFarra

  • Guess it was pretty stupid of the terrorists to kidnap that Israeli.

    LOL.

Idiots. What did you think would happen? Israel would do nothing? I hope the terrorists have learned their lesson.

  • Mona, my prayers for all of you over there. This madness has to stop.
God be with you. The lessons have not be learnt from past history, terrorism is the curse of all mankind.

  • Mona - just ignore those ignorants!

I tell you the truth, I can't even imagine in my worst dreams what horrors you're going through!! I wish so much I could offer you more that only tell you "HANG ON - you have lots of friends who support you, who are with you!" I'd love to stand by your side in ER or ICU - as an ICU-RN this is nothing new for me at all!
How old is your daughter? Please give her a BIG HUG from me!!
Dear, you're a doctor and middle-aged woman ... but you're a HUMAN and as such it is NORMAL to react the way you do!!
What can I do to help you? I feel so helpless in the face of this mounting nightmare!! I really start to believe this is not about Gilad Shalit alone anymore but persues a MUCH bigger goal, something they were threatening since Hamas was elected - to destroy the infrastructure, the government ... and inevitably with that as well the PA!
I'm hugging both of you, your daughter and you!! Stay strong Mona ... it MUST have an end SOON!! We're by your side - you're NOT alone!!

God be with you all! May His love give you courage and may that courage allow you to continue to reach out to others. Thank you for thinking of us -- to recharge the laptop and then to share the situation and your emotions with us. That is a gift.

  • Dear Mona

I can understand what you are going through. It is terrible and extreemly unfair when the victims are made wholy resposible for all the misery delived upon them by others. The world have a selective short memory to realize that Israel is a very young country and it did not excist befor 1948. The world forgot about the native Palestinian who lived in and owned this land. However, we got be releastic and look forward for a better future for our children.
Please let me know if I can help you in any way.
It brings tears in my eyes and heavy heart to imagine the way of life in the strip. As decent people indicated before that the stip is in reality in a big prison with Israel holding the key for any meaningful economic and social progress. People comitt unthinkable acts in face of disperate conditions and this is what happening. The point is will this ever come to end? Where are the courages people on both side who are willling to say enough is enough. I am hopefull that this day will happen in my life time.
Keep writing , it is the very small window that keep the world aware.
love and kisses to you and your doughter.

  • Yeah, the whole world is watching...
    ...the World Cup.

In what coverage it has spared, while not reporting on Paris Hilton and other vital matters, the mainstream media, as usual, focuses on the one Israeli soldier, skipping the whole Gaza beach shelling, while critically ignoring the fact that Israel planned the kidnapping of the Hamas officials long before Mr. Shalit was taken: From Haaretz:
    www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/732528.html

The detention of Hamas parliamentarians in the early hours of Thursday morning had been planned several weeks ago and received approval from Mazuz on Wednesday. The same day, Shin Bet Director Yuval Diskin presented Prime Minister Ehud Olmert with the list of Hamas officials slated for detention.

Of course, you can't even get that fact from the US media, which scrubs all critical observation and analysis of Israel.

  • Go Israel! Kill em all, let God sort em out!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7/02/2006 12:22 AM

  • Mona, Some heartless people who have occupied Palestine for decades wanting it all in the name of Israel and other opportunists may write negatively. Just ignore them! As if it was a 'Land without people for people without land' as that Zionist myth was! How long will this hoodwink of theirs last? Draw strength from mostly positive comments. Keep your chin up!

  • Oh Munich, shut the fuck up. You are SO histrionic, and you look histrionic too, judging from your picture. Aren't there any amateur theatre groups you could join, to work off some of that melodrama?

Here's a horror for ya: being a Jew and having your head cut off by Arab Muslims who chant praises to their false god as the blood drains from your body. Or watching your baby's head snap from a Palestinian sniper bullet -- a Pali who specifically targeted your baby. Somehow I think Mona's having to restrict her microwave cooking to a couple of hours a day pales in comparison. Don't you think?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7/02/2006 7:38 PM

  • You for got that the names are wrong its a palestinian childs head thats snapping back from an Israeli bullet suppied by American tax dillars, we see what the Zionists are doing and we don't like it. Make peace or live like South Africa did in their Arrogance

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7/02/2006 9:57 PM

  • israel pm said they would leave the gaza if homeboy was released.

what i don't understand is if everyone in the gaza strip is afraid for their lives as result of the israeli attacks and worried about a possiable humanaterian crisis then why don't the captors of gilad s. let himm go. or why aren't the palistine people or you pushing for his release. israel would be wrong to attack futher if the soldier was released. let him go and they will go... at least that's what many israeli officials said.....

do you thinkit was wrong for the solider to be captured?

does he fall intoyour circle of compassion for the suffering?

one day peace will enter the region.. untill then...god bless you and your work at the hospital...may the "crisis" be over soon and the killing and capturing of soliders and suffering end on both sides.

  • hey neutralsam:

if you go to israel you can see for your self the acient jewish ruins that date back further than a few decades son! you could call jews palistinines as they have been the majority since the late 1800's as well as thousands of years of history in the area. i comend you for supporting her but don't ignor the facts and archology.... israel has a right to be there and a right to defend it'self. lest we forget what's happening there is a "2 way street" meaning bothe sides are guilty of politicin' the sitution.

stay cool (because you read blogs) and safe

  • The arrogance to use exessive force is the only strategy known to Israel's army generals . The White House had given them the green light, as it always had , and is responsable for the escalation of violence . A peaceful settlement will probably not be achieved, without witnessing more bloodshed and the worsening of the ongoing crisis .
I can only say that the Israeli government will never learn how to achieve a lasting peace . They just do not want to !!! Do we have to blame those who fight to be liberated from occupation , or those who would not admit they're occupying a land that is not their own .

  • please know that there are people that care about you and your neighbors. I truly wish that you could know that you are not alone. Im from the US and I hate how our govt refuses to hear your words and how you are all treated as faceless terrorists. the govt and medias response is as though you are all animals and suicide bombers. I have tried to tell people (including Jews) what you are saying and trying to get them to see that its easy to understand how those that feel powerless and are continually cut off from humanity can be pushed to inhuman means to defending yourself. Israel feels its ok to be pushed into a violent role " to defend itself". why cant they understand that the other side is doing all it can to live a peaceful life? while your lives are cut down, your homes and jobs are destroyed and your children are brought up in fear. Why cant Israel and US and UK govt understand that the group of violent thugs are not spokesmen for all Moslems. their continued self righteousness promotes the notion that all Moslems are murderous animals that only want to kill all jews. that kind of idealogy is only going to incite all moslem peoples to become hateful of the jewish people. if moslems feel that they are hated and being condemned as murders then its clear that they will fight to protect themselves from those that hate them and condemn them for the actions of a few thugs.

If the jews insist on "protecting themselves" without remorse or making a way to get along with all peoples, then how can they expect moslems to not take the same stance. HENCE creating terrorism because of a hatred from both sides, incited by state funded terrorism.

here in the US a moslem American killed a jewish woman and injured a few others last night, stating he did it because he disapproves of what Israel is doing. its so clear that violence solves nothing, but when humanity is pushed toward hatred, humanity and human life is lost to violence and fear. Israeli people need to realize that and try to let HUMANITY and INTELLIGENCE take over instead of bombs and militance.

I am not religious, I prefer to think of myself as spiritual. In times like this it makes me appreciate the teachings of Jesus Christ who said to turn the other cheek. He said not to fight back, that is the only way to truly win. Same with other historic figures like Martin Luther King and Gandhi. You might be crucified and feel pain from those who hate you, but by not fighting back it makes it increasingly hard for the opposition to keep hating you. it might even make them respect you, or make it so future generations can have a lasting peace. and if they think youre weak because you dont fight back, it is because of their own need to keep up inhumane means. BUT as soon as you get down in the mud with them you loose your humanity and YOU ARE A TERRORIST as well. THAT is what the terrorists want, to make you inhumane. I am not religious but I pray that cooler heads can see this point and not fall into the violence trap.

I also pray that you Mona can once again live in the light and that you and your family will live without fear or hate or violence. Many Americans feel that way, its just that in this "war on terror" since 2001, its not easy for peaceful people to get their points made without being called traders or terror supporters. Please know you are not alone and know that people do care about you.

  • actually has any group stated that they are holding the soldiers? Im not sure about that but how do we know that this young kid did not go awol since he was a new soldier and was drafted by the Israeli govt. He looks like a very young boy ( I had heard that Gillat was only in the army for a week) if he was smart he ran for the hills while he still had his life and his own free will to NOT KILL.

and if he was taken in Lebanon how do we know that he wasnt killed by his own armies constant bombardment of the lands that he might have been held in? see you dont even hear Israel talk about him or the other soldier any more. all their talk is about destroying Hezbollah at any cost and how they are supposedly justified in doing so because they are being bombed in northern Israel. it seems they have lost track of how this started and if they were not wanting to have war then why didnt they try to get a coallition of nations to negoiate the return of the soldier instead of getting the green light from the US to destroy whoever they choose. When Israel was bombed by Iraq in GUlf War 1 in the early 90s the Us begged the Israelis to not retalliate and to stay peaceful. in the end that was the right choice since if they did defend themselves it would have brought out much more attacks and a huge loss of life ( I believe 3 Israelis were killed). WHY were they told not to fight then but now its ok? maybe because the US and the UK are trying to justify what they are now doing in Iraq. showing themselves to be strong as if that is going to keep attacks away. that has not worked anywhere and the problem in the US is that our govt is out of control with no real means or credibility in negoiating peace, most likely because the corporate govts profit from fighting and we have no intelligent leaders like we did with Clinton, Carter and maybe even Bush 1 that knew how to negoiate peace instead of cowboy diplomacy.

Until all people wake up to reality and embrace HUMANITY over violence, then we will not be innocent when the next attack comes our way in the form of planes hitting buildings or trains blowing up. ignorance is not bliss.

  • Whoa ros, I do believe you need a serious reality check. Major big time!

Why don't you take a stroll to the Israeli prisons where about 3,000 Palestinians, Lebanese, women, children, and men have been incarcerated ILLEGALLY for over 20 years. The world doesn't see how they are tortured and murdered, dear one.

As for the "COZY" and "COMFY" way that Israel is SYSTEMATICALLY murdering and torturing palestinians (which I'm sure you prefer the world does not see), indeed IT IS JUST THAT: A SLOW-MOVING, INSIDIOUS HOLOCAUST which has been murdering Arabs and their supporters since Israel's grisely inception.

ros, do WAKE UP. Your Zionist haze is blinding you greatly. SNAP OUT OF IT.
