  • My thoughts are with you, Mohammed and your family. Your message really gives us insight into the horrific actions of the Israelis, and the devastating effects this has on your people. We continue to march and protest against the policies of the Israeli government. When will they listen? As Sarah said, Shame on you Israel...

  • I visited the blog as soon as I heard about the news.
Oh god.. this is the most terrible thing that can happen.

I also heard that the UNSC has failed to agree to a united approach to this because the US beleived that Israel's "self defence" cannot be stopped.

what is going on? are they insane?
i just cannot beleive that this is happening.

  • it is very very regrettable.

  • Shame to the launchers of rockets into population centers. your blood is no redder than that of the Israelis. your rockets target ONLY civilians- women and children. you aim for kindergartens and schools. you target hospitals and old-age homes. Shame on YOU for standing by and letting this happen for 8 years. 8 years. 8 years. how much damage, how many dead and wounded. and you remain silent.
you made your bed. lie in it.

  • dear Mona. indeed, there is a lot of suffer in gaza. the only one to blame is Hamas. you know very well that Israel did all it could to maintain the "tahadiah", but hamas refused. prime minister, olmert, warned your leaders, again and again, but they covered their eyes. i can guaranty you, that if you and your people stopped teror activities, and rocketing Sderot, you can live calm and quiet. like in west bank, you can start having life of peace, good education and cetra...

  • as one speaker said at the london rally "where are the belly dancing arab leaders"... and tired of hearing world leaders calling to an end to the slaughter and then not following it with action

  • Your neighbours don't have to use their imagination. You have been firing rockets at them for 8 years. I understand you can't take it for even one week, it must be really terrible. But you try to imagine 8 years (3,000 days) and ask yourself what you did to stop the indiscriminate targeting of Israeli civilians during that entire period. If you can't answer then I think you have only yourself to blame for your predicament.

  • It makes me sick to know that my country (United States) bought the weapons that are being used to Slaughter Palestinians in the Gaza strip. I finally posted my outrage at cakeblast.com but I need to do more. At the least, we need to protest and get the U.S. government to formally rebuke the actions of Israel.

  • With tearz in my eyez I read the report of brother Mohammed Fares.. I am confident that Allah will not forsake the people of Gaza.. We have our plans and He has His plans, and His plans are the best. We have to be very patient and control our anger.. and this trial is not only for people of Gaza, but for the real Muslims who care for humanity and justice. I will keep praying for all of you. May the victory be with the Palestine.. Shame on Israel indeed!!

  • This is an indication of the so called human right that the west is fighting for.
When Georgia invade South Osatia and Russia went after Georgia the whole west saw that as an act of aggression, but when Palestinians resist Israel aggression of (41years occupation while being massacre in hundred) it was seen Israel allies as an act of self defense against terrorism. (A stone thrower is a terrorist upon a heavily armed person)!
We Muslim knew that Allah abhors us from killing children, women, children and weak. And going through Islamic history even in the west one will find Muslim to be always the most lenient government in comparison to others.
What is happening in GAZA for life we will continue to see it as a Holocaust.
What they don't know is Muslim grew stronger in faith with every form off aggression against them. And surely the Muslim Umma is recombining as ONE again.
Islam is not about Nation but soul. It’s is not about compulsion but conviction. Every Muslim was told in the Qur'an that, the unbelievers will not retire from their desire to frustrate you until you surrender your faith. No amount of intimidation, aggression will change us. To today I still won't forget the act of aggression and massacre of my people during the colonial invasion of Hadejia. Their crime was not surrendering their faith.

  • My heart goes with the people of Gaza and in particular, with the brave people who inside who are trying to get the honest word out to the rest of us throughout the world (I live in Canada). It is very painful to see the destruction that you have been experiencing at the hands of Israel, but it is even more painful to see how the vast majority of national leaders around the world seem to be condoning (or, in the case of Bush, perhaps encouraging) Israeli aggression.

I wish you strength in this time of great need. Thank you, Dr. El-Farra, for helping to keep us informed.

  • why are the UN allowing israel to be such a big bully.

enough is enough. if the USA stopped funding the state the 'problems' could be sorted on a more equatible basis ..... however, remember david and goliath, heather ( new zealand)

By Blogger Heather - the Kiwitravelwriter, at 1/04/2009 8:37 PM

  • @sarah - most Israelis are so deeply entrenched in their own suffering and their anger at Palestinians, that they don't notice the unimaginable horrors that the residents of Gaza are going through right now.

Many Israelis are very angry at the residents of Gaza for electing and supporting Hamas - an organization which openly declares that it aims to destroy Israel, and that has kept firing Qassam missiles at Israeli children for 8 years now.

My heart is with Mohammed Fares El Majdalawi and the children of Gaza. My hope is that one day both sides, Israelis and Palestinians alike, will look at their own responsibility for events and not just blame the other side.

  • We are from Turkey. Our hearts with Palestinians. But we can't do anything for you.Our live is still the same but your live is completely different now.Israel is strong now but you will strong with Allah's justice...Peace,justice and beauty for you.

  • The message from you, Mohammed - how could I understand? I can not undestand your day to day-life Mohammed. I can only try, and I think that this is to cruel for my mind to accept. This is a situation that makes all words without meaning, compared with yours, Mohammed.

I think of you, Mohammed. Please fight against this. There is people outside Gaza that really honestly think of you.

    Lots of love,
    Frida

  • It's impossible to positively justify collateral damage.

I think most of the world looks at the situation though and sees Hamas provoking Israel with rocket attacks for no good reason. They are the genesis of this attach, which is why the rest of the Arab world has washed their hands of them and tacitly condoned the attack.

Israel is killing Gaza citizens, but it was the actions of Hamas that made them.

By Blogger pupmup, at 1/05/2009 12:27 PM

  • Dear Mona,

We met at Andrea's house when she threw a dinner part for you.
    I think of you often.
I speak about this injustice to everyone I meet.
I daily protest Israel's crimes and atrocities.
I try with my family and friends to shame the UK government to act and penalise Israel for its illegal actions, and for the brutality of its military.

And the truth is alone I feel helpless to change things, but there are many of us, and WE WILL fight alongside ALL OF YOU for your right to self-determination, statehood and a life of dignity.

With huge respect for you and your work, and in solidarity and with love, Eleanor

  • A message from the United States:

Perhaps now the Palestinian people will think twice before electing a terrorist organization like Hamas to power. Firing over 3,000 rockets at Israel and expecting nothing to happen is absolutely insane. And putting terrorists in charge is insane. You people have nobody to blame but yourselves.

Israel is NOT your enemy! Hamas has destroyed your country and your way of life.

By Blogger VegasLane, at 1/06/2009 1:19 PM

  • Please don't assume that all westerners think that.

By Blogger Matt, at 1/06/2009 7:39 PM

  • Thank you very much for your description, what's happening there is just inacceptable. They are trying to hide it by not allowing reporters in, but thanks to your blog all the world can know. Please check this link, they used your blog to describe what's happening in Gaza in a very well read French Newspaper --http://www.lemonde.fr/la-guerre-de-gaza/article/2009/01/05/sur-les-blogs-de-gaza-chronique-d-une-vie-en-etat-de-siege_1137851_1137859.html--People pray for you all around the world. This is extremely hard and unfair, but please hang on. Soon these crimes that can only be described as a second holocaust will be over. Allah m3kom!

By Blogger Unknown, at 1/06/2009 10:20 PM

  • I spoke to you earlier Mohammed, and I repeat again. The people of Palestine are in our prayers. We are preparing to march in aid of our brothers and sisters in Islam. The warcrimes must stop. Palestine,we will NOT forget you.

The main press and world leaders should be pleading for Israel to stop this now. Ofcourse those rockets must stop too.

  • I am sad to see what is happening in Gaza right now. Israel has always acted like they are the only ones with rights and have profited as much as they could from the tragedy that was the Holochaust even to the point of exploiting it. Even if i have no blood or religios link to the palestinian people i am sadened by the sensless loss of human life and at the way that the palestinian people are treated.

To non-Muslims: this is not rocket science. isarel has tried to starve out the people of Gaza at least since the elction of HAMAS. I say, the people of Gaza have every GOD-given human right to resist such oppresion by any means necessary.

My prayers are with the people of Gaza.

  • Power and resposibility... once again the ones that have power stay silent... their silence derives from their processes and proceadures but its still silence. The great ones have earn their power by threatening that they can be violent, now they come accross the original, brutal and severe form of violence against innocent people and they wave "kindly" ... they dont only wave they greet...they greet death, pain and agony. In my country (Greece)we say that tough guys (mages in greek) would never try to save themselves by putting their wife and children in front of him.
I wonder if in this triangle of blood the scapegoat remains the wounded children and the widows....

  • Hello

I am a Canadian Christian, not a muslim or a jew. I think what is happening is terrible.

All people must be equal, and treated with honesty and respect, if we want peace in this world.

No Government should be based on any religion. Religion must be a private matter between an individual and God.

The Jewish nation wants the whole world to remember all the bad things that happened to them in the second world war, so that it is never repeated again, but they are doing a lot of the very same things to a different group of people in the name of protection.

Israel, lost my respect as a nation, I will stop supporting their organizations, and will let everyone I know and meet about this.

    KSP
