Bad news I'm sorry

THE MOTHER I MENTIONED IN MY PREVIOUS STORY COULDN'T MAKE IT. SHE PASSED AWAY 3 HOURS LATER LEAVING BEHIND HER HUSBAND SAMIR AND THEIR 2 CHILDREN. ONE OF THE GIRLS WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED AND IS STILL AT THE HOSPITAL.
SOMIA, THE MOTHER, WAS HANGING UP THE CHILDREN'S CLOTHES AT HER HOME IN JABALIA WHEN SHE AND HER CHILDREN WERE HIT BY THE MISSILE. SOME NEIBOUGHERS TOLD ME THAT THE BABY WAS NEXT TO THE MOM, INSIDE HER PUSHCHAIR.
I'M UNABLE TO VISIT THE FAMILY.
I HAVE NO WORDS.

WITH LOVE AND SOLIDARITY
MONA

  • I am very saddened at the state of this world.

All I can hope for is that karma exists.

  • Saddens me to hear this.

The world is starting to open its eyes so in the end we might be able to put an end to the murderist ways of the Israeli government, that have been hidden for so long, too long.

    Have faith

  • I'm really sorry to hear about that. I always listen to the news about the critical situation in Gaza Strip to find frightening numbers of people are being killed and bombed everyday. I feel deeply sad when nobody around pays attention to this continuous genocide or try to stop it. May Allah be always with you all. I constantly pray for you.

  • HOW TERRIBLE!! I feel so awfully sad .. what a tragedy!! Mona - I know words can't comfort much after such a terrible loss .. but once you feel they arrive, please pass to the father my heartfelt condolences! Tell him there are people far away who love them all, who support them wholeheartedly, who firmly stand by their side in this terrible time!
The time will come when EVERY RESPONSIBLE will be taken accountable for what he/she had done .. we humans don't have to move a finger even! There is someone else who takes care of that ... MUCH BETTER than we can possibly imagine!!
I'll send a prayer to heaven for the soul of the mother ... and for to strengthern the father and the children to be able to live on!

HANG IN THERE MONA .. we're by your side!!
BIG HUG ... as well for Sondos!

  • I have no words either, but..send my love. (and the French translations posted are excellent. You talk of writing by the light of a candle or kerosene lamp. Your writings are a candle, shining through this darkness.)

  • Mona, I have read this post over and over for the last 24 hours and like you I have no words for this horrible tragedy. I can only hope and pray that people around the world will see what is happening and call for an end to all of this. Stay strong. Your voice needs to be heard.

  • "My second cousin is in the army. Or was.

He was stationed in Tyre, to man a prehistoric anti-aircraft gun that could only intimidate migrating birds.

He heard Israeli choppers flying in to drop commandos in a civilian area.

We don't know if he actually managed to get a round fired off or not.

Moments later he became a charred body in a destroyed vehicle.

In my heart, I know his death served no purpose.

He is fodder to the raging inferno of death and hate sweeping Lebanon, leaving ash and dust in its wake.

But when his toddler kids grow up, and ask me what happened in 2006, I will say he died a hero.

Would they understand the truth? Would they forgive us if they did?"
